A court on Tuesday placed four people, deported from Malaysia recently over their alleged link to militancy, on a four-day remand in an anti-terror act case.
The four are Nazrul Islam Sohagh, Mohammad Redwanul Islam, Jahed Ahmed and Mahfuz.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Minhazur Rahman passed the order after police produced them before the court and pleaded to place them on a seven-day remand each in the case.
Police detained Sohagh, Redwanul and Jahed on Thursday as they reached home from Malaysia.
Mahfuz was arrested in Muradnagar, Comilla, on Monday.
Inspector Md Abdul Baten of the Anti Terrorism Unit (ATU) filed the case on Saturday with the capital's Airport police station against 35 expatriates over their militant links.
According to the case documents, the accused were allegedly luring people to militancy and running propaganda on social networking sites.
They are accused of making people take an oath of extremism, holding secret meetings using the sites.
They would raise funds for militant groups elsewhere and transfer those through e-wallets and other international money transferring systems.
Malaysian police in separate drives managed to arrest 21 people on April 28.
