Tajul: Formal charges in two July mass killing cases likely this month

International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) Chief Prosecutor Muhammad Tajul Islam on Sunday expressed hope that formal charges in two cases filed over mass killings and crimes against humanity committed during the July uprising will be submitted within April.

"So far, we have received draft probe reports for three cases. One case is against the ousted prime minister, Sheikh Hasina, over her command responsibility in all the crimes. The other two pertain to mass killings and crimes against humanity committed in Ashulia and Chankharpul, respectively," he told reporters on the ICT premises.

The ICT chief prosecutor added that formal charges for two of the cases would be ready soon and could be filed within this month.
