Summons issued against Shakib Al Hasan in cheque dishonour case

A Dhaka court on Wednesday issued a summons against cricketer and former member of parliament Shakib Al Hasan and three others in a case involving a cheque dishonour at IFIC Bank.

Dhaka's Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Mahbubul Haque issued the summons, according to court sources.

Bench Assistant Khandaker Shahriar Alam said that a cheque fraud case was filed against Shakib Al Hasan on Sunday.

Following a hearing on Wednesday, the court issued the summons against him.

The other accused in the case include Gazi Sahagir Hossain, managing director of Shakib Al Hasan Agro Farm, Imdadul Haque, a director of the company, and Malaikar Begum.

The farm itself has also been named as an accused party.

On Sunday, the bank’s relationship officer, Shahibur Rahaman, filed the case with the court.
