Lawyer ZI Panna interested in defending Hasina at International Crimes Tribunal

Lawyer and human rights activist ZI Khan Panna has expressed interest in representing former prime minister Sheikh Hasina in cases filed over the mass killings during the July-August uprising at the International Crimes Tribunal.

He made this statement on Thursday while addressing a briefing about the suspension of bail for former additional attorney general Mehedi Hasan Chowdhury.

Panna also said that the number of mass killings cases have increased significantly compared to previous years.

Earlier, the Appellate Division suspended the bail granted to Mehedi Hasan Chowdhury in the genocide case.

The order was issued by the Appellate Division bench led by Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed.
