A complaint has been filed with the International Crimes Tribunal against nine individuals, including former military adviser Tarique Ahmed Siddique and former RAB officer Ziaul Ahsan.
Limon Hossain, who lost his leg after being shot by Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel, submitted the complaint to the ICT chief prosecutor's office on Tuesday.
The complainant said: "Under the fascist Sheikh Hasina government, I received no justice. With the hope of justice, I have now filed a complaint with the International Crimes Tribunal."
On March 23, 2011, during a RAB operation in Jamaddarhat, Rajapur upazila, Jhalakathi, RAB personnel detained Limon Hossain and shot him in the leg.
A few days later, doctors at Dhaka’s National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (Nitor), commonly known as Pongu Hospital, were forced to amputate his left leg.
This incident took place just 12 days before Limon’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) exams when he was only 16 years old.
