A case has been filed against 19 individuals, including former Grameen Bank Chairman Dr AKM Saiful Majid, on allegations of forcibly occupying and attacking six companies affiliated with Dr Muhammad Yunus, including Grameen Telecom.
The case was filed in Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Partha Bhadra's court on Sunday.
Following the recording of the plaintiff's statement, the court directed Shah Ali police station in Mirpur to take it as evidence.
According to the case details, from February 12-15 this year, Dr AKM Saiful Majid, along with 35 others, allegedly made an aggressive attempt to take control of Grameen companies.
Abul Kalam Mohammad Moinuddin Chowdhury, managing director of Grameen Kalyan, filed the case after identifying 19 of them, with 16 individuals named as accused.
The case statement alleges that the accused arrived at the Grameen Kalyan office, claiming to be newly appointed representatives by Grameen Bank. During the confrontation, they reportedly forced entry into the office, damaging valuable company documents and furniture in the process.
