A Dhaka court on Saturday sent former ministers Rashed Khan Menon, Hasanul Haq Inu, and former state minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak to jail following the completion of their remand in the Emon Hossain Gazi murder case.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Awlad Hossain Muhammad Zunaid issued the order as they were presented before the court after their remand period ended.
Earlier, on October 8, the trio was placed on a seven-day police remand.
According to the case details, Emon Gazi sustained fatal bullet injuries during a student-people demonstration at Chittagong Road under Jatrabari police station on August 5.
Emon’s brother, Anwar Hossain, filed the case with Jatrabari police station on August 28.
Menon was arrested from the Gulshan area of Dhaka on August 22, Inu from Uttara on August 26, and Palak from the Nikunja residential area under Khilkhet police station on August 14.
