A court has exempted BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman from charges in a case filed under the Digital Security Act (DSA).
The order was issued by Judge Noor-e-Alam of the Dhaka Cyber Tribunal on Sunday.
On July 29, the state had requested a fresh investigation into the case, and Sunday was set for a ruling on that matter.
The case stems from an incident in which Tarique Rahman, during a party meeting, allegedly referred to Ziaur Rahman as the "father of the nation."
The case was filed by Zahidul Islam, a leader of the Dhaka University Chhatra League, with Shahbagh Police Station on February 25, 2021.
