The High Court has dismissed a writ petition seeking the ban and the cancellation of Awami League's registration as a political party, accusing it of indiscriminately killing students and people.
The High Court bench of Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice Md Mahbubul Ul Islam issued the order.
The writ petition was filed by Arifur Rahman Murad Bhuiyan, executive director, Sarda Society, on August 19.
The writ also requested the renaming of institutions named after Sheikh Hasina.
Additionally, the writ seeks a minimum of three years for the current interim government to reform the country, repatriate Tk11 lakh crore smuggled abroad, and transfer officers who were appointed on a contractual basis during the previous Awami League government.
