An application has been filed in court to register a murder case against former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and 48 others over the death of the assistant of a driver in Jatrabari, Dhaka.
The victim is Dulal, also known as Selim, an assistant to a driver of Thikana Paribahan. Dulal's brother Mostafa Kamal filed this application in the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Saddam Hossain on Tuesday.
The court recorded the statement of the plaintiff and kept the order pending.
Among the notable accused in the case are Obaidul Quader, Asaduzzaman Khan, Shamim Osman and his son Ayon Osman.
According to the complaint, on August 3, during the student movement, leaders and activists of the 14-party alliance, including the Awami League, opened fire on students and the public with illegal weapons in the area. During the time, the victim Dulal was shot in the head and died.
