A writ petition has been filed in the High Court seeking reform of the secondary school curriculum.
Supreme Court lawyer Kamrul Hasan filed the writ petition in the relevant branch of the High Court in the public interest on Tuesday.
The petitioner said the writ might be heard by the High Court bench comprising Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice Muhammad Mahbub Ul Islam.
The petition also calls for the formation of an investigative committee to identify those responsible for the “erroneous” curriculum design.
Additionally, the petition seeks a suspension of the current education curriculum starting from 2025.
The writ names the secretary of the Ministry of Education, the chairman of the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB), the director general of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE), and the secretary of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education as respondents.
