A court has placed six individuals, including former ICT Division state minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak and former deputy speaker Shamsul Haque Tuku, on seven-day remand in connection with the case involving the death of Ideal College student Khalid Hasan Saifullah during the recent Anti-Discrimination Student Movement on Sunday.
The other remanded individuals are Arif Khan Joy, Ahmed Hossain, rear admiral (retired) Mohammad Sohayel, and Tanvir Hasan Saikat.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Arobia Khanam issued the remand order after police presented the accused and requested a 10-day remand for each.
Saifullah was killed in Lalbagh on July 18 while participating in the protest. His father filed the case with Lalbagh police station on August 19.
