BNP leader Annie, 3 others remanded

A Dhaka court granted a seven-day remand application of BNP leader Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie and three others arrested in the case of sabotage of Rampura police station in the capital.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shanta Akhter's court ordered the remand after the hearing on Saturday afternoon.

The other accused remanded are Ghulam Dastgir Prince and ABM Khalid Hasan.

On this day, the investigating officer of the case, Police Inspector Mohammad Yasin Shikder of Khilgaon Zone presented the accused in court and applied for a 10-day remand.

On behalf of Anee, her lawyer Zainal Abedin Mejbah, Taherul Islam Tawhid and many others applied for bail seeking cancellation of remand. The state opposed the bail. After hearing both sides, the court ordered a seven-day remand for each.

Annie was arrested from New Elephant Road around 5:30pm on Thursday.
