A Dhaka court on Monday recorded the statement of a pro-BNP lawyer, who had filed a petition to sue disgraced politician Murad Hassan and one Mohiuddin Helal Nahid under the Digital Security Act (DSA).
Dhaka Cyber Tribunal Judge Mohammad Ash Sams Joglul Hossain recorded the statement of the plaintiff advocate Omar Faruq Faruqi, a leader of pro-BNP Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum (BJAF).
According to court sources, the judge is expected to decide soon whether the case should be heard.
On Sunday, the petition was filed seeking to press charges against Murad and Nahid over untoward comments about former prime minister and BNP chief Khaleda Zia’s granddaughter.
Murad reportedly shared the interview, taken by talk show host Nahid, who streamed it live on Facebook.
