A hospital worker, responsible for the tragic death of a teenager as he removed the oxygen mask on not getting adequate tips, has made a confessional statement in court.
Senior Judicial Magistrate Asma Mahmud recorded the statement of the accused, Asadul Islam Mir Dulu, under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure on Friday afternoon.
Later the court sent Dulu to Bogra Jail, said Sadar Police Station Sub-Inspector Osman Goni.

On Thursday morning, members of the Rapid Action Battalion held Dulu from Dhaka’s Abdullahpur and handed him over to Bogra Sadar police.
Eighteen-year-old Bikash Chandra Das died at Bogra’s Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital (SZMCH) on Tuesday night after Dulu removed his oxygen mask.
Bikash had been admitted to the hospital at around 7pm on Tuesday after sustaining injuries in a road accident.
The accused ward boy, Dulu, took Bikash to the emergency ward and then to the surgery department after putting an oxygen mask on him.
Dulu allegedly demanded Tk200 as tip from Bikash's family for taking him to the surgery department. As Bikash’s relative gave him Tk150, Dulu became infuriated and removed Bikash’s oxygen mask.

Soon after, Bikash developed breathing problems and died at around 10:30pm, according to the case.
On Wednesday, SZMCH Ward Master Rafikul Islam filed a case against Dulu on charges of causing death by negligence with Bogra Sadar police station.
