Journalist Nadim murder: 13 accused remanded

A Jamalpur court on Sunday granted remand to 13 accused in the journalist Golam Rabbani Nadim murder case.

Judge Senior Judicial Magistrate Tanveer Ahmed granted the remand when the defendants were brought to Jamalpur Chief Judicial Magistrate's court.

Among them, Union Parishad Chairman Mahmudul Alam Babu was put on five-day remand.

Those who were remanded for four days are Golam Kibria Sumon, 43, Milan, 25, Tofazzel, 40, Ainal Haque, 55, and Reazul. 

The seven accused who were put on a three-day remand are Kofil Uddin, 55, Fazlu Mia, 35, Shahid, 40, Maqbool, 55, Ohiduzzaman, 30, Monir, and Zakir. 

A case was lodged against 47 people naming the Sadhurpara Union Parishad (UP) Chairman Mahmudul Alam Babu as prime accused in connection with Nadim's murder.

Earlier, Banglanews24.com journalist Golam Rabbani Nadim who was seriously injured in an attack allegedly by some supporters of a UP chairman in Pathati area of Bokshiganj upazila Wednesday night died at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital on Thursday.

He worked as Jamalpur correspondent for Banglanews24.com and Bokshiganj upazila correspondent for Ekattor Television. He was also a member of Jamalpur Press Club.
