BNP leader Chand again placed on 3-day remand

A Rajshahi court has again put BNP leader Abu Sayeed Chand, who threatened to kill Awami League chief and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during a speech on May 19, on a three-day remand.

Judge Mahbub Alam of Rajshahi Judicial Magistrate Court-4 passed the order after the hearing on Tuesday afternoon.

APP Jalal Uddin, the lawyer of the state in the case, confirmed the information, adding that earlier, the court granted a five-day remand to BNP leader Abu Sayeed Chand. The Rajshahi district superintendent of police has handed over the case to the district Detective Police (DB) for further investigation.

The detectives applied for a 10-day remand for investigation. After the hearing, the court granted a three-day remand, he added.
