Chargesheet submitted against cricketer Al-Amin Hossain

Police have submitted chargesheet against Bangladesh national team cricketer Al-Amin Hossain in a case filed by his wife over domestic violence.

The chargesheet was filed as the complaint was prima facie proved under Section 11 (gha) of the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act. 

Inspector Sohel Rana of Mirpur Model police station submitted the chargesheet in the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ataullah on Thursday.

At that time, Al-Amin was present at the court. 

The court also ordered the transfer of the case to Dhaka Women and Children Repression PreventionTribunal-8 for further trial.

On October 12, the Dhaka court issued an arrest warrant against the cricketer. 

The accused got bail through his lawyer on October 6. 

He also submitted a written statement to the court, claiming he divorced his wife on August 25.

On September 2, Ishrat Jahan, wife of the national team pacer, filed a complaint with Mirpur Model Thana where she alleged that Al-Amin tortured and physically abused her for dowry. 

Also, the victim was forcefully driven out of her house with her minor kids, the complaint said.

On September 6, the High Court granted an eight-week anticipatory bail to Al-Amin. 

The victim filed another case against his husband seeking maintenance of her and children.

According to the case statement, Ishrat Jahan and Al-Amin got married in 2012 and they have two children. Al-Amin had allegedly staying away from home for the past two years and not providing the family with necessary maintenance per month.

Al-Amin is also accused in a case filed under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act.
