The High Court has issued a rule asking why instructions should not be given to form an independent probe commission into the assassination of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family members on August 15, 1975.
The cabinet secretary, and secretaries of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Finance, and Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs have been asked to respond to this rule within four weeks.
The High Court Bench comprising Justice KM Kamrul Kader and Justice Mohammad Ali issued the rule on Monday, after hearing a writ in this regard.
On October 25, 2021, a writ was filed in the High Court asking to form a probe commission into the assassination of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family members on August 15, 1975
Advocate Asfakozzoha filed the writ on behalf of the Supreme Court lawyer Subir Nandi Das.
