Appellate Division gets four new judges

Four judges from the Supreme Court’s High Court Division have been elevated to the Appellate Division, taking the total number of judges in the top court to eight.

Justice Borhanuddin, Justice M Enayetur Rahim, Justice FRM Nazmul Ahasan and Justice Krishna Debnath were scheduled to take the oath of office at 10am on Sunday.

President Abdul Hamid made the appointments under Article 95 of the constitution.

Headed by Chief Justice Hasan Foez Siddique, the other judges in the Appellate Division are Justice Muhammad Imman Ali, Justice Md Nuruzzaman and Justice Obaidul Hassan.
