A Dhaka court on Monday dismissed the case filed against disgraced Awami League lawmaker Dr Murad Hassan and one Mohiuddin Helal Nahid on charges of making untoward comments on former prime minister and BNP chief Khaleda Zia and her family members.
Dhaka Cyber Tribunal Judge Md Ash-Shams Joglul Hossain passed the order as the court did not find any grounds to take the allegation against the accused into cognizance.
Earlier in the day, the court recorded the statement of the plaintiff advocate Omar Faruq Faruqi, a leader of pro-BNP Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum (BJAF).

On Sunday, the petition was filed seeking to press charges against Murad and Nahid over obscene remarks under the Digital Security Act (DSA).
Murad shared the interview, taken by talk show host Nahid, who streamed it live on Facebook.
Meanwhile, a Rajshahi court also scrapped the case against Murad and Nahid filed by AKM Saiful Islam under the DSA.

Rajshahi Cyber Tribunal Judge Ziaur Rahman in its observation said the plaintiff did not have any authority or jurisdiction to file the case.
On the other hand, a petition has been filed against Murad in Barisal for filing a case under the DSA over the same allegation.

Abul Kalam Azad, general secretary of the BJAF in Barisal, filed the petition in the court of Cyber Tribunal Barisal Judge Golam Faruk.
The court held a hearing on Monday and is likely to pronounce its judgement soon, said Public Prosecutor Ishtiaque Ahmed.
