A special tribunal in Sylhet has fixed March 30 for announcing the verdict in blogger and science writer Ananta Bijoy Das murder case.
Judge Md Nurul Amin Biplob of the Sylhet Anti-Terrorism Tribunal fixed the date after hearing statements from the lawyers of accused Abul Hossain, Foysol Ahmed and Harun-or-Rashid on Monday.
Plaintiff’s counsel Samar Bijoy Shekhar confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.
On March 10, the tribunal fixed Monday for hearing statements from lawyers of three fugitive accused in the murder case.

Ananta Bijoy Das, a science writer linked to Mukto-Mona website, was hacked to death by militants in broad daylight in Sylhet city on May 12, 2015, within three months of the murder of Mukto-Mona blog founder Avijit Roy in Dhaka.
Ananta’s elder brother Ratneshwar Das filed the murder case the same day. The case was later transferred to the CID.
Al-Qaeda affiliate Ansar al-Islam (previously Ansarullah Bangla Team) claimed credit for the murder.
