A case has been filed against four people, including the newly-elected president and deputy general manager of Jamalpur Palli Bidyut Samity, for their alleged involvement in irregularities during the elections.
Four members of the association filed the case at the Bakshiganj Assistant Judge's Court on Monday.
The case says the schedule for the election of area-based directors was announced on December 9, 2021, and the voting day was fixed for January 18.
But, keeping it a secret, the main accused in the case, Md Mesbaul Haque, was declared elected as the area director.
Mesbaul works as assistant headmaster of Kamalpur Co-operative High School and receives government salary and allowance, says the case. Also a member of a political party, Mesbaul was later nominated as the president of Jamalpur Palli Bidyut Samity on January 29.
Refuting the allegations, Mesbaul said that he had not received government salaries or allowances as an assistant headmaster of the school.
“I only received grants and I am also not affiliated with any political party. So, I have won the election of Palli Bidyut Samity as per the rules,” he claimed.
