Supreme Court to hold in-person hearings from March 6

The Supreme Court (SC) has decided to hold hearings through physical appearance of all the parties concerned from March 6 as the trend of Covid-19 infection rate is declining.

Supreme Court spokesperson Mohammad Saifur Rahman on Thursday said both the divisions of the apex court would resume hearings on that day.

The apex court went into virtual proceedings again from January 19 due to a surge in Covid cases.

Bangladesh recorded five deaths from coronavirus in the 24 hours till 8am on Thursday with another 657 new infections being reported.

The positivity rate dropped further to 2.91% during the same period as 22,568 samples were tested across the country, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

On Wednesday, the country logged eight deaths and 732 fresh Covid cases.
