One sentenced to death for killing 11-year-old boy in Keraniganj

A Dhaka court has sentenced a man to death in a case filed over the murder of schoolboy Abdullah in Dhaka's Keraniganj.
Dhaka Speedy Trial Tribunal 3 Judge Syed Ahmed gave the verdict Wednesday afternoon.
The court fined death row convict Khorshed Alam Tk20,000.
It also sentenced one Md Mehedi Hasan Shamim to 10 years imprisonment under the Children Act 2013 and his sister Mithu Akhter to one year in jail.
Mithu was fined Tk5,000, in default of which, she will have to serve an extra month in jail.
It court also acquitted Mehedi’s mother Nasima Begum of the charge.
On February 2, 2016, Abdullah's body was found inside a drum at Motahar Hossain's house, not far from where he had lived. The victim's family said he had been missing since January 29 after going out to play with friends.
Motahar, the prime accused, was killed in an alleged gunfight with RAB in South Keraniganj on February 16.
