Pragya Debnath alias Ayesha Jannat Mohona alias Jannatut Tasnim, 25, an alleged member of the women wing of the banned militant outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) on Wednesday gave a confessional statement before a Dhaka court.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Begum Yasmin Ara recorded Pragya’s statement under section 164 as police produced her before the court after the end of her four-day remand. The court then sent her to jail.
Earlier on July 17, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate court remanded her in the anti-terror act case filed with Motijheel police station.
A team of Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s counter terrorism unit arrested Pragya, an Indian citizen, from Sadarghat area on July 16 and recovered her Indian passport, a Bangladeshi birth certificate, a Bangladeshi national identity card, and two mobile phones from her possession.
