Coronavirus: Closure of courts extended till May 16

The Supreme Court has extended the ongoing general holidays at all the courts across the country till May 16 to prevent the transmission of deadly coronavirus.

Supreme Court spokesperson and High Court Division Special Officer Md Saifur Rahman said the apex court has issued a circular in this regard on Tuesday, BSS reports.

Signed by Supreme Court Registrar General Md Ali Akbar, the circular urged all the employees of the courts across the country, not to leave their work stations during the holidays.

Earlier, the Ministry of Public Administration issued a gazette notification to extend the general holiday in the country till May 16 on Monday.

As of Tuesday, Bangladesh has reported 10,929 confirmed coronavirus cases while reporting 183 deaths from the deadly virus.
