The High Court has summoned Shariatpur Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Mohammad Nezam Uddin to know how he recorded three confessional statements at same time on the same day in conecction to a murder case.
The HC bench of Justice Obaidul Hasan and Justice AKM Zahirul Haque came up with the order on Sunday after hearing two bail petition filed by two accused in the case.
Following the summon, Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Mohammad Nezam Uddin has to appear before the court on March 29 and present his explanation regarding the issue.
Advocate Shah Md Sabbir Hamza Chowdhury and Rezaul Karim stood for the petition.
According to the case statement, on July 5, 2015, a murder case was filed against the two accused with the Zajira police station at Shariatpur. Rubel Chwkider, Liton Sani and Ali Hossain Bepari were included in the charge sheet as accused in the case.
Later, two accused Liton Sani and Ali Hossain Bepari filed bail petition with the High Court.
While going through the case documents, the High Court bench found that the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Mohammad Nezam Uddin recorded confessional statements of the three accused at the same time on July 19.
