A writ has been filed at the High Court seeking directive to reschedule the Dhaka North and South city corporation election slated for January 30.
Supreme Court lawyer Adv Ashok Kumar Ghosh filed the writ to order the Election Commission to defer the election date for a week on Monday, as the date of the polls are on the same day as Saraswati Puja.
On December 22, the Election Commission announced the election date of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) for January 30.
