The High Court has summoned one of the directors of the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP).
The High Court bench of Justice Sheikh Hassan Arif and Md Badruzzaman issued the summon order on Tuesday, after DNCRP submitted a report before it.
Shamim Al Mamun, director of admin and finance division, has been asked to explain the reason for needing Tk50 lakhs for a consumer service hotline installation before the High Court on August 27.
Advocate Kamruzzaman represented DNCRP while Barrister Shihab Uddin Khan stood for the writ.
On June 16, the same bench ordered DNCRP to introduce a hotline within two months.
