The High Court has issued a rule asking the government to explain why it should not be directed to take necessary steps for ensuring security of judges and at court premises across Bangladesh.
The bench of Justice FRM Nazmul Ahsan and Justice KM Kamrul Kader issued the rule while hearing a writ petition filed to ensure security of judges, lawyer and court officials on Wednesday.
Advocate Israt Hasan stood for the petition.

In the rule, the court also asked the government to explain, within four weeks, why it has failed to ensure security at the Comilla court, where an accused was stabbed to death.
On July 16, Advocate Ishrat Jahan filed a writ petition with the High Court demanding measures to ensure security of judges as well as courts across the country.
On July 15, a murder case accused was stabbed to death by another right before a judge and police officlals inside a packed courtroom in Comilla.
