Two accused in a case over the murder of Rifat, who was brutally killed in Barguna, confessed to their crime before the Senior Judicial Magistrate Court.
Accused Oli and Tanvir gave their confessional statements before the court of Barguna Senior Judicial Magistrate Sirajul Islam Gazi, after being produced before it, around 5pm on Monday.
The court also approved a five-day remand for the other three accused.
In his confession, Oli said, following the murder plan posting in a Facebook messenger group, he collected a bag carrying the murder weapons from Rakibul Islam Rifat, and delivered it to Rifat Forazi. Rifat Forazi hid the bag in an adjacent rooftop.
Later, on the day of the murder, Oli, Rifat Forazi, Rakibul Islam Rifat, and Hridoy alias Tiktok Hridoy delivered the bag to Nayan alias Nayan Bond, and participated in the murder.
The other accused, Tanvir said in his confession, he and the other accused killers, conducted a meeting to plan the murder, at the Barguna Govt College grounds. Rishan Forazi asked Tanvir to join him at college road, on June 26 to kill Rifat, according to their previous plan.
Rishan Forazi gave Tanvir the responsibility to ensure placing of killers in every corner of the road, so that the victim Rifat cannot run away, and be saved from the attack.
Tanvir also stated names of the involved killers before the court. Who are Sabbir Ahmed Nayan alias Nayan Bond, Rifat Forazi, Rishan Forazi, Mohaminul Islam Sifat, Rakibul Islam Rifat, Rabbi Akand, Rayhan, and some other men unknown to him (Tanvir).
The court approved a five-day remand for three other accused, Nazmul Hasan, Kamrul Islam Saimun, and Mohammed Sagor. Among them Nazmul was already on a three-day remand, police asked the court for additional days for further questioning.

Earlier on June 26 (Wednesday), Rifat Sharif, 22, was hacked to death by several people—in front of his wife Ayesha Siddiqua Minni—near Barguna Government College in Barguna town, in broad daylight. The incident sparked mass outrage, and shock across the country.
Until now, police have arrested nine suspects in connection with the case—accusing 12 people—that Rifat's father lodged with Barguna Sadar police station
The court issued warrants of arrest against two accused in Rifat murder, in a separate case
A Barguna court has issued warrants of for two, who are also accused in Rifar murder case, in a case filed in October 2018.
Barguna Judicial Magistrate Court Judge Nahid Hossain issued the warrants of arrest on Monday. The warrants were issued against Sabbir Ahmed Nayan alias Nayan Bond, and Rifat Forazi, the two principal accused in Rifat murder case.
According to the case statement, Nayan Bond, and Rifat Forazi led a group of five to six men, and tried to mug a laptop from Jihad Jaman on October 15, 2018. The miscreants injured Jihad, and broke his laptop. Later Jihad’s father Akhtaruzzaman Nasir filed a case accusing unknown miscreants including Nayan Bond, and Rifat.
The plaintiff of the case Akhtaruzzaman Nasir said: “If the police have taken action against the miscreants then, Rifat could have been saved from the brutality.”
