A Dhaka court on Tuesday adjourned till August 4 the hearing in the case filed against Tazreen Fashions over the devastating fire that killed more than a hundred workers and injured many others nearly seven years ago.
Dhaka’s First Additional District and Session Judge Sharif AM Reza Zaker set the new date as no witnesses turned up to testify yesterday, prompting the prosecution to appeal for time.

A total of 112 workers were burnt to death and more than 200 were injured in the fire that engulfed the garment factory at Nishchintopur in Ashulia on November 24, 2012. Sub-Inspector of Ashulia police station Khairul Islam filed the case the next day.
CID Inspector AKM Mohsinuzzaman Khan on December 22, 2013, submitted a charge sheet against 13 people, including Tazreen Fashions Managing Director Mohammad Delwar Hossain and Chairman Mahmuda Akhter.
Dhaka District and Session Judge SM Quddus Zaman framed charges in the case on September 3, 2015.
