A tribunal on Tuesday sentenced four people to death over the rape and murder of a teenage girl at Ahmed Chowkidar Kandi village in Zanjira upazila of Shariatpur in 2017.
The convicts are Nur Morol, 35, Chunnu Morol, 50, Swapna Begum, 45, and Selim Chowkidar, 37, reports UNB.
According to the prosecution, the victim, Rima Aktar, 13, daughter of Ilias Chowkidar, went missing on September 11, 2017.
Two days later, her body was recovered from an abandoned place at the village with injury marks on her neck and chest.
The victim's father filed a case with Zanjira police station on September 14.
The male convicts abducted and raped the girl while Swapna abetted the crime. Later, they killed Rima.
