HC cautions two judges

The HC bench of Justice Md Miftah Uddin Choudhury and Justice ANM Bashir Ullah passed the order on Thursday after an initial hearing with a Magura District and Session Judge Court and Dhaka Cyber Tribunal. It also granted bail to Md Sabuj Ahmed, who was accused under Section 57 of the ICT Act regarding a controversial Facebook post. According to Sabuj’s lawyer Aminul Ehsan, a tribunal cannot deal with cases under the ICT Act until police complete the investigation report, but a session judge court has the right to deal with such cases before the police report is filed, but had refused to do so.
