HC directs to accept Comilla mayoral candidate

An HC bench of Justice Naima Haider and Justice Abu Taher Md Saifur Rahman passed the order on Monday hearing a writ petition filed by the candidate. Mamunur submitted a nomination paper on March 2 to run in the election scheduled for March 30. The returning officer rejected the nomination on March 5 and Mamunur moved an appeal with the Chittagong Divisional Commissioner, which was rejected on March 8. The candidate then moved with the High Court on Monday with a writ petition challenging the March 8 decision. The court heard the matter and passed the order.
