A Dhaka court has granted bail to the SP Golden Line Paribahan owner and rejected the bail plea of a driver of that company’s bus in a case file over the death of a motorcyclist in a road crash in the city's Moghbazar Wireless area
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Fahad Bin Amin Chowdhury passed the order on Wednesday, reports UNB.
Angry locals reportedly set the Golden Line bus on fire after it hit a motorbike, leaving motorcyclist Saiufl Islam Rana dead and a pedestrian injured at Moghbazar last Friday.
On Tuesday, a court had sent the company’s owner Junayed Hossain Laskar and that bus’s driver Imran Sardar to jail when police produced them before the court on expiry of their remand.
Court sources said the court granted bail to Junayed as he was scheduled to go to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj.
