The High Court has ordered Monthly Payment Orders (MPO) to be issued to 222 teachers belonging to private institutions.
The bench of Justice Md Ashfaqul Islam and KM Kamrul Quader gave the order on Wednesday after hearing five writs in this regard.
Advocate Siddique Ullah Mia, the lawyer for the petition, told journalists: βThe petitioners for the writ are employees of educational institutions included in the MPO plan. They have filed the writ as they are being exempted from the MPO despite being entitled to it, and the court has responded in their favour.β
A total of 222 teachers had previously filed five different writs regarding MPOs. After hearing all five writs, the court came to the decision to give them their dues.
