The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) appealed to a chamber court on Tuesday to stay BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s bail in the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.
The opposition leader was sentenced to five years in prison last month for her role in embezzling funds from the trust set up in the name of her late husband and former Bangladesh president Ziaur Rahman.
On Monday, the High Court gave Khaleda Zia interim bail for four months, which was in turn appealed by the state prosecution.
