High Court rejects writ seeking appointment of CJ

The High Court has rejected the writ petition that filed challenging the inaction of the authorities to fill the post of the Chief Justice. The High Court bench of Justice Zinat Ara and Justice Kazi Md Ejarul Haque Akondo passed the order on Sunday. Earlier on January 3, Advocate Eunus Ali Akond submitted the petition to the High Court seeking it directives why the inaction of the authorities to fill the post of the Chief Justice should not be declared unconstitutional. The post of Chief Justice fell vacant following resignation of Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha on November 10 last year.
