ETV journo Nazmul put on fresh remand

Dhaka Senior Judicial Magistrate Shahzadi Tahmina passed the order after Detective Branch inspector Abdul Awal, also investigation officer of the case, produced him before the court seeking a five-day fresh remand, after the completion of his two-day remand. Meanwhile, Nazmul’s counsel Tuhin Hawladar filed a bail petition with the court but it rejected the plea and granted remand for one day. On December 27, Dhaka Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Mostafizur Rahman granted a two-day remand for Nazmul in the case. Police detained journalist Nazmul Huda from Baipail in Ashulia on December 23, seizing his cellphone, laptop and car. Later, police filed a case with Ashulia police station under the ICT Act against the journalist on charges of spreading false information and carrying out propaganda using a fake Facebook ID to instigate Ashulia RMG workers.
