BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia was granted bail by a Dhaka court on Thursday in the Zia Orphanage Trust and Zia Charitable Trust graft cases.
Responding to a petition from the recently-returned opposition leader, Judge Dr Akhtaruzzaman of Dhaka Special Judges Court 5 gave the order upon payment of a Tk1 lakh bond in each case.
Earlier in the day, Khaleda appeared before the court and sought bail in the cases.
The same court had issued an arrest warrant against her in the Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case on October 12.

The BNP chairperson reached Bakshibazar court premises at around 12:15pm on Thursday.
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed the case in 2008 against six people, including Khaleda and her eldest son Tarique Rahman, for allegedly misusing Tk2.1 crore from the funds of the Zia Orphanage Trust.
In addition, in 2011, the ACC accused the BNP chief and three others of misappropriating Tk3.15 crore from the Zia Charitable Trust Fund.
