Graft case: Khaleda’s defence hearing Nov 24

Judge Abu Ahmed Jamadar of Special Judge's Court-3 fixed the date on Thursday after recording the cross-examination of Harun-ur-Rashid, the case's plaintiff. Rashid is also the investigation officer of the Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case. The court asked him to appear before it for cross-examination on November 17. In 2008, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) accused Khaleda, her son Tarique Rahman and four others of embezzling over Tk2.1 crore using the name of Zia Orphanage Trust. The ACC filed another case in 2011, charging four persons, including Khaleda, of abusing power to collect a fund of Tk 6.19 crore for the Zia Charitable Trust.
