ACC sues Rajuk director, wife over illegal assets

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed two separate cases against Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk) Director (Development Control-2) Mobarak Hossain and his wife, Sahana Parveen.

The cases were filed by ACC Assistant Director Asif Al Mahmud at the Integrated District Office, Dhaka-1, on Tuesday.

According to the case document, Rajuk's former authorized officer, currently the Director of Development and Control-2, Md Mobarak Hossain, committed a punishable offence by acquiring assets worth Tk41,46,845 inconsistent with his known sources of income as per his submitted wealth statement.

In another case document, it was mentioned that Sahana Parveen, in collusion with Mobarak Hossain, committed a punishable offence by acquiring assets worth Tk1,58,73,152 beyond known sources of income through mutual cooperation.

It was also mentioned that if others are found to be involved during the investigation, they will also be brought under purview of the law.
