ACC arrests civil aviation official with bribe money

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has arrested an official of Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) over graft allegations.

HM Rashed Sarkar, CAAB junior license inspector and consultant, was arrested from the capital's Uttara area with bribe money on Friday.

ACC spokesperson Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.

"CAAB official Rashed was arrested from Uttara's BFC restaurant with more than Tk1 lakh of bribe money. He took the bribe from a pilot candidate to provide illegal favours during his exam.

"A team led by Deputy Director of the ACC Masudur Rahman will file a case with its Integrated District Office Dhaka 1 in this regard soon," the ACC official said.
