Six people have received burn injuries as fire broke out at an under construction factory in Palli Bidyut area under Kaliakoir upazila in Gazipur.
Kaliakoir Fire Station Senior Station Officer Apurba Bol said: “A leaked gas pipe caught fire when a maid was cooking food for the workers at Agami Washing Limited around 6:15am Monday.
“It soon engulfed the whole room that gave burn injuries to six people including the maid.”
On information, two fire fighting units went to the spot and doused the blaze after an hour of frantic efforts.
Kaliakoir police Sub-Inspector Azim Hossian said the injured were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) by the locals.
