More than 50 workers of a garment factory in Ashulia have fallen ill allegedly after drinking water at the factory.
Ashulia Industrial Police Director Mustafizur Rahman told the Dhaka Tribune that the ailing workers have been admitted to local clinics and hospitals.
He said: “Over 50 workers of Global Adorn factory fell ill shortly after they drank water at their workplace on Sunday morning.”
The factory authorities declared it closed for the day as panic spread out after the incident.
