A woman has died after being panicked during the earthquake that jolted the country on Saturday afternoon.
The deceased is Rokeya Khanom Ity, 65, president of Pabna municipality unit of Mohila Awami League.
Family members said being panicked of the earthquake, Rokeya fell on the road and got injured.
She was taken to Pabna General Hospital where duty doctor declared her dead.
Duty officer of the hospital Dr Shubho Rahman said Rokeya might have died of cardiac arrest from the earthquake panic.
A major earthquake jolted the capital and parts of the country, causing panic among the people.
Nearly half an hour after the first tremor, aftershocks were felt again around 12:45pm.
The magnitude of the quake was 7.9 in Richter scale and the epicentre was located in Nepal, according to USGS.
