A Chandpur court has sentenced serial killer Rasu Khan to death in a case filed in the district for killing a female garment worker after raping her.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Arunav Chakravarty passed the order on Wednesday.
On August 18, 2008, Rasu killed garment worker Shahida after raping her at Nanupur canal of Faridganj in Chandpur Sadar upazila.
Later, Chandpur Model police station SI Nazrul Islam filed a murder case.
Rasu was arrested on October 7, 2009 from Nirashpur of Tongi in Dhaka over a theft.
He gave a confessional statement to then senior judicial magistrate Amirul Islam.
He admitted that he murdered a total of 11 female garment workers till then. He wished to kill a total of 101 women.
