Robbers have stabbed three people of a family and looted the houses of two businessmen in Toporbari area under Sreepur upazila in Gazipur.
The injured are Monjurul Haque, 60, his wife Fojila Begum, 50 and their son Monir Hossain, 30.
Of them, Monjurul, a business man of the area, and his wife were admitted to a local hospital in Gazipur while Monirul was shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition.
Victim Monjurul said: “A gang of 12 robbers swooped on my house around 1am Sunday and looted Tk20,000, 1.5 tolas of gold, mobile phone handsets and cloths.”
“They stabbed my wife, son and me when we tried to prevent them from robbing the house.”
Meanwhile, the robbers also swooped on another businessman Shamsul Haque’s house and looted 6 mobile phone handsets, gold and other valuables.
Sreepur police OC Mohosinul Kadir said police visited the spot and would take necessary steps in this connection.
